RELATING TO ENERGY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Establishes the University of Hawaii (UH) Green Special Fund to support energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability projects and services, and planning, design, and implementation of sustainability projects for UH's benefit. Requires UH to submit an annual report to the Legislature. (HB794 CD1)

RELATING TO ASSISTING DAM AND RESERVOIR OWNERS.

Clarifies that aboveground freshwater storage tanks are included in the definition of "appurtenant works" for the purpose of authorizing the issuance of special purpose revenue bonds to assist dam and reservoir owners. (HB633 CD1)

RELATING TO TAXATION.

RELATING TO DENTISTRY.

Requires dentists who administer anesthesia or sedation to post contact information to verify licensure and authorization to administer anesthesia and sedation. Specifies requirements, including inspections, for written authorization or permit to administer anesthesia or sedation. (HB561 CD1)

RELATING TO PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS.

Authorizes establishment of a State Public-Private Partnership Coordinator position within the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism to manage public-private partnerships entered into by the State and associated contracts, proposals, and negotiations, except public-private partnerships entered into by Hawaii Public Housing Authority. Establishes an Office of Public-private Partnership within the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism. Appropriates funds. (HB627 CD1)

RELATING TO THE STATE BUILDING CODES.

Requires the State Building Code Council to adopt codes or standards within two years of official publication, otherwise automatic adoption into Hawaii State Building Code will occur until such adoption is effectuated. Deletes requirement for Council adoption of new model building codes within 18 months of official publication date. Authorizes Council to receive private funds for code adoption. RELATING TO LAND.

Amends the county exemptions from building permit and building code requirements to ensure that Hawaii's communities are not suspended from participation in the National Flood Insurance Program. (SD1)

RELATING TO COFFEE BERRY BORER BEETLE.

Extends the sunset date for the Coffee Berry Borer Pesticide Subsidy Program until June 30, 2021, for the purchase of pesticides containing Beauveria bassiana to combat the coffee berry borer. Provides that no single coffee grower shall receive more than $6,000 per year in subsidies between June 30, 2018, and July 1, 2021. (HB186 CD1)

RELATING TO IDENTIFICATION.

Requires the Department of Public Safety, in collaboration with various agencies and upon request of the inmates, to issue civil identification cards to inmates and to assist inmates in obtaining the inmates' birth certificate, social security card, and other relevant identification necessary for successful reentry into society. Requires the Department of Public Safety to initiate the process of assisting inmates released to work furlough, extended furlough, or community placement programs at least ninety days prior to the inmates' release. RELATING TO HEAT ABATEMENT.

Authorizes the Department of Education to borrow moneys interest-free from the Hawaii Green Infrastructure Loan Program for heat abatement measures at public schools. Requires the Department of Education to make payments on the loan from revenues saved by energy efficiency measures. (HB957 CD1)
