Clarifies the fair treatment law by delineating limitations placed on persons who are task force members from those placed on legislators who are task force members. Clarifies that legislators are not prohibited from making statements or taking action in the exercise of their legislative functions. (HB98 HD1)
Establishes an income tax credit for agricultural businesses that lose income because the business took land out of active production to comply with federal food safety requirements. (HB230 HD1)
Establishes a diversified farming business investment tax credit. (HB1522 HD1)
Authorizes departments that are members of the invasive species council to require landowners with land that contains invasive species to control or eradicate the invasive species if the landowner does not permit the department to enter the land. Imposes fines for noncompliance.
Appropriates moneys for implementation of the Rapid Ohia Death Strategic Response Plan. (HB1004 HD1)
Requires DOH to develop guidelines for the mandatory disclosure of cesspools on real property.
Establishes the Remote Testimony Task Force to develop procedures to make available remote testimony technology throughout the State that enables the public to testify remotely via the Internet during legislative proceedings. Annually increases minimum wage 1/1/18 - 1/1/2021. On 9/30/2021 and thereafter requires DLIR to adjust the minimum hourly wage in accordance with the Honolulu region consumer price index. Deletes tip credit.
