RELATING TO THE CONVEYANCE TAX.

RELATING TO PUBLIC HOUSING.

Requires the Hawaii Public Housing Authority to establish trust accounts to provide matching funds to tenants who rent dwelling units. Specifies tenancy termination requirements. RELATING TO REAL ESTATE.

Requires principal brokers to ensure associated real estate licensees are responsive to association-related requests from owners and Real Estate Commission-generated information is distributed to an association, board, or unit owner within ten days after receiving a request for information. RELATING TO THE LOW-INCOME HOUSING TAX CREDIT.

Specifies that certain provisions of the Internal Revenue Code related to at-risk rules and deductions and to passive activity loss do not apply with respect to claims for the state low-income housing tax credit. Appropriates funds to establish one position in the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation to oversee the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program. (HB1335 HD1)

RELATING TO SEXUAL ASSAULT.

Provides certain rights to sexual assault survivors with regards to the testing of sexual assault evidence collection kits. Requires the Attorney General to provide the Legislature with an initial report prior to the 2018 Regular Session on law enforcement's progress to implement the guidelines for mandatory testing requirements. Thereafter, AG to provide the Legislature with annual reports of statistical data pertaining to the testing. (HB668 HD1)

RELATING TO MORTGAGE SERVICERS.

Reduces mortgage loan servicer licensing fees and relicensing fees for nonprofit organizations. Exempts nonprofit organizations and their employees, who are already exempt from licensure and registration as mortgage loan originators, from regulation as mortgage loan servicers. Requires a report to the Legislature. (HB1241 HD1)

RELATING TO THE AHA MOKU.

Clarifies that the Aha Moku Advisory Committee is placed within DLNR for administrative purposes only. Requires DLNR to provide budgetary and administrative support to the Committee. RELATING TO HOUSING.

Requires use of an unspecified percentage of funds in the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Special Fund to provide housing for residents who qualify for Social Security disability benefits and are diagnosed with a life-long serious mental illness. (HB874 HD1)
