RELATING TO THE HAWAII CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION AND ADAPTION INITIATIVE.

Requires the Hawaii Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission to prioritize, identify, utilize, and maintain nature-based solutions in its climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts at the regional, state, and local levels. Clarifies "nature-based solutions". Requires the Commission to develop a science-based carbon budget for the State. (SB2965 HD1)

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES.

Assesses a $10 motor vehicle importation fee for each motor vehicle that is imported into the State, due to the county that is the final destination of the vehicle. Provides that revenue from the motor vehicle importation fee shall be expended for the disposal of abandoned vehicles. (SD1)

RELATING TO GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS.

Directs the Hawaii Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission to assess the effects of transportation in the tourism industry on climate change and publish a report of its findings. Appropriates moneys. (SB2977 HD1)

RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.

Authorizes a court to order the forfeiture of Employees' Retirement System benefits of an ERS member, former member, or retirant upon conviction of the individual for a felony related to the State or county employment of the individual. Authorizes designated beneficiaries to receive ERS benefits upon the death of the ERS member, former member, or retirant convicted of the felony. (SB2228 HD1)

RELATING TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION.

Permits neighbor island members to receive per diem compensation and compensation for travel expenses. Clarifies the ability of the commissioners of the Public Utility Commission to appoint and employ staff. Establishes a task force to examine the operations of the Public Utilities Commission. RELATING TO CONDOMINIUMS.

Clarifies that if a proxy is a standard proxy form authorized by an association, and the proxy is returned with no box checked or more than one box checked, the proxy shall be counted for quorum purposes only. (SB392 HD1)
