Increases the fines for violations associated with a person operating a vehicle after the person's license and privilege has been suspended or revoked for operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant.
Requires insurers, mutual benefit societies, fraternal benefit societies, and health maintenance organizations to provide coverage for health care services provided by a naturopathic physician. Requires the insurance commissioner to receive and investigate complaints regarding discrimination with respect to participation under a health insurance plan against any health care provider. Increases fines for persons who commit the offense of driving a motor vehicle at an excessive speed.
Entitles designated family members and other interested persons of a person having a mental health emergency to: notice of emergency admission, examination, and hospitalization. Entitles designated family members and other interested persons to the option to be present in the courtroom for a hearing on a petition for involuntary hospitalization or assisted community treatment and the option to receive copies of hearing transcripts or recordings, unless the court determines that the interests of justice require otherwise. Requires notice of discharge and voluntary inpatient treatment when forensic and non-forensic patients are civilly committed to individuals specified in the order of commitment. Requires the court to adjourn or continue a hearing on a petition for involuntary hospitalization or assisted community treatment for failure to timely notify designated persons, with certain exceptions. Requires health insurance policies and contracts issued after 12/31/18 to provide coverage for the cost of hearing aids at a minimum of $1,500 per hearing aid for each hearing-impaired ear every thirty-six months. Takes effect on 6/1/2050. (SD2)
Enables condominium associations to adopt rules and regulations that: require unit owners to prohibit smoking inside a condominium unit as part of a lease agreement; and prohibit smoking on a lanai of a condominium unit and in all common elements. Takes effect 7/1/2050. (SD1)
Creates procedural and administrative requirements for law enforcement agencies for eyewitness identifications of suspects in criminal investigations. Requires the attorney general to establish procedures for the implementation of uniform statewide eyewitness identification procedures. Takes effect on 1/7/2059. (SD1)
