RELATING TO AUDIBLE VEHICLE REVERSE WARNING SYSTEMS.

Requires the replacement of current audible reverse warning systems (back-up beepers) on state and county-owned vehicles purchased on or after 1/1/2025, with more effective broadband reversing alarms by 1/1/2025. Takes effect 7/1/2050. (SD2)

RELATING TO FAMILY COURT.

Requires certain persons to immediately submit a declaration attached to a motion to the court if the person has reason to believe that a child in foster custody has suffered an injury that may arise to a tort claim. Establishes procedures for Family Court upon receipt of the written report, including required contents of an order appointing a master. Appropriates funds. Effective 7/30/2075. (SD2)

RELATING TO REAL ESTATE BROKERS.

Allows the Real Estate Commission to revoke or suspend a license, or fine a licensee, for advertising, promoting, representing, receiving any remuneration for, or offering for rent any transient vacation units and whole-home short-term rentals unless the unit or rental is permitted by the relevant county. Effective 12/31/2050. (SD1)

RELATING TO DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES.

Establishes that charging shipping and delivery charges that exceed the actual cost charged to the seller to ship or deliver a commodity to a consumer in Hawaii constitutes an unfair and deceptive practice. (SD1)

RELATING TO THE NEIGHBOR ISLANDS BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED SERVICE PILOT PROGRAM.

Requires the Department of Human Services to establish a neighbor islands blind and visually impaired service pilot program that provides training and other services to blind or visually impaired individuals residing on the neighbor islands. Requires the department to report to the Legislature before the Regular Session of 2025. Appropriates funds. Effective 7/1/2050. Repeals 6/30/2025. (SD2)
