RELATING TO THE HAWAII EMPLOYER-UNION HEALTH BENEFITS TRUST FUND.

Encourages the EUTF to consider investment opportunities in industries that will sustain Hawaiʻi's natural environment or produce economic opportunities for its residents, including renewable energy businesses and businesses that use investment capital to acquire the infrastructure and services needed to become energy sustainable. RELATED TO SUMMARY POSSESSION.

Requires that a current GET license number for any rental income be filed with the complaint to the court for summary possession proceedings. Requires the judiciary to submit an annual list of certain information regarding summary possession cases to the department of taxation. Effective 6/30/3000. (HD1)

RELATING TO VESSELS.

Prohibits a vessel from being fumigated on ocean waters. Allows an owner whose vessel is required to be fumigated on ocean waters to apply for an exemption from the division of boating and ocean recreation. Requires any vessel granted an exemption to be fully covered and sealed while being fumigated and for any period of time thereafter needed to prevent fumigant or other chemicals from entering ocean waters. Effective 6/30/3000. (HD1)

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Requires DOE to develop and implement safety training for all cafeteria student helpers and ensure the student helpers receive the training prior to them volunteering. Requires DOE to provide personal protective equipment for all cafeteria student helpers prior to the student helpers volunteering. Requires all cafeteria student helpers to be directed and supervised by trained personnel at all times. Effective 6/30/3000. (HD1)

RELATING TO COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES ON BEACHES.

Prohibits any person from presetting commercial beach equipment on any public beach under the jurisdiction of the department of land and natural resources, unless the customer is physically present. Requires commercial vendors to expeditiously remove commercial beach equipment after the customer has finished using it. Allows the department of land and natural resources to grant exemptions through rules adopted pursuant to chapter 91, Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes. Establishes administrative fines for violations. Pertains only to public beaches and does not include private lands, including accreted lands.
