RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES.

Requires an application for motor vehicle registration to include additional identifying information. Authorizes the counties to assess a fine against the legal or registered owner of a vehicle deemed abandoned. Requires the legal or registered owner to have up-to-date motor vehicle registration and motor vehicle insurance prior to repossession of the abandoned vehicle. Requires DOT to implement records database linking driver's license, motor vehicle registration, traffic citation divisions, and motor vehicle control. (HB1234 HD1)

RELATING TO HEALTH.

RELATING TO A TEACHER TAX CREDIT.

Establishes a state income tax credit for certain expenses incurred by prekindergarten through twelfth-grade teachers, instructors, school librarians, counselors, principals, registrars, or aides in a school. (HB726 HD1)

RELATING TO MAGNET SCHOOLS.

RELATING TO HEALTH.

Prohibits the shipment of tobacco products, and the transport of tobacco products ordered or purchased through a remote sale, to anyone other than a licensee. Increases the license fee for wholesalers or dealers and the retail tobacco permit fee. Increases the excise tax for each cigarette sold, used, or possessed by a wholesaler or dealer. Increases the excise tax on the wholesale price of each article or item of tobacco products sold by the wholesaler or dealer. (HB387 HD1)

RELATING TO MEMORIALS.

Appropriates funds for the planning and design of a memorial to honor service members of the recent conflicts in the Persian Gulf, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the various theaters of the Global War on Terrorism, to be located at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe, on the island of Oahu, and replicas of the memorial to be located at state veterans' cemeteries statewide. RELATING TO COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSES.

Authorizes the Examiner of Drivers to waive the knowledge test for a commercial driver's license applicant who meets the requirements of title 49 Code of Federal Regulations section 383.77 or 383.123(b). (HB326 HD1)
