RELATING TO HEALTH.

RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION.

Prohibits sale of polystyrene foam food service containers and the sale or service of food using polystyrene containers statewide. Authorizes the Department of Health to adopt rules for implementation including for enforcement, exemptions, and consumer education. (HB850 HD1)

RELATING TO MENTAL HEALTH.

RELATING TO TAXATION.

RELATING TO TEACHER HOUSING SUBSIDIES.

Establishes the teacher home assistance program within HHFDC to provide housing vouchers to full-time DOE teachers (including public charter school teachers) who teach in hard-to-fill schools and whose household income does not exceed eighty percent of the area's median income. (HB649 HD1)

RELATING TO NATURAL DISASTER PROTECTION.

Requires the Social Science Research Institute of the University of Hawaii to conduct a study to determine whether the use of parametric disaster insurance policies for the State is feasible, practical, affordable, and in the public interest. Appropriates funds. (HB714 HD1)

RELATING TO MARIJUANA.

Establishes the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division Special Fund (Special Fund) within the Department of Health. Reclassifies specific low-level marijuana offenses as non-criminal violations subject to a fine, which shall be deposited into the Special Fund for public education and awareness programs aimed at reducing the use of harmful drugs.
