RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII BOARD OF REGENTS CANDIDATE ADVISORY COUNCIL.

Requires the board of regents of the University of Hawaii candidate advisory council to present candidates for the board regents who reflect the diverse student population, counties, and higher education-related stakeholders. Amends the various appointing authorities of members of the candidate advisory council. Amends the terms of members of the candidate advisory council. Effective 7/1/2060. (HD1)

RELATING TO FOOD SECURITY.

Amends Act 151, SLH 2019, to make identifying lands for producing food crops that may be grown locally using conventional, sustainable, and regenerative practices to replace imports one of the goals of the Department of Agriculture's strategic plan for increased food production. RELATING TO CORRECTIONAL FACILITY AND COMMUNITY CORRECTIONAL CENTER DEATHS.

Updates reporting requirements by the PSD when inmate and employee deaths occur at correctional facilities and community correctional centers. Requires the report to include the race of the decedent. Requires the report to cite to any authority relied upon by the PSD in determining that information is protected by state or federal law. Provides for disclosure of the report, subject to certain conditions. Effective 7/1/3050. (HD2)

RELATING TO HISTORIC PRESERVATION.

Amends the definition of "historic property" under the historic preservation law to include the requirement that buildings, inclusive of privately owned homes, meet the criteria for being entered into the Hawaii register of historic places. (HD1)
