RELATING TO EXPUNGEMENT.

Requires the court to automatically seal or remove from the Judiciary's publicly accessible database any information relevant to the arrest or case of a person for whom an expungement order has been entered. Requires the Judiciary and the Examiner of Drivers to no longer include dismissed traffic citations in public driver's records.

RELATING TO ADVANCING CIVIC ENGAGEMENT.

Requires the public access room to establish and maintain an outreach and engagement program for primary, secondary, post-secondary, and community education. Requires the department of education and university of Hawaiʻi to assign appropriate staff to coordinate with the public access room for the outreach and engagement program. Appropriates funds for one full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position to assist in effectuating this requirement. Effective 6/30/3000. (HD1)

RELATING TO SEXUAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION EDUCATION.

Establishes the Erin's law task force to review policies, programs, and curricula for educating public school students about sexual abuse and sex trafficking prevention, report recommendations for the establishment of a program to educate public school children on sexual abuse prevention through age-appropriate curricula, provide relevant training to teachers and school staff, and inform parents and guardians about important child sexual abuse topics. Requires the Department of Education to establish and implement a systemwide sexual abuse prevention education program at the conclusion of the task force.

RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

Establishes the shade and fruit tree program in the department of education to support educational activities and encourage propagation of native shade trees or fruit trees for planting in department schools. Temporarily expands the state rent supplement program to specifically target qualified individuals who are sixty-two years of age or older and are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION.

Beginning 12/31/2026, prohibits the manufacture, sale, offer for sale, distribution for sale, and distribution for use of any food packaging, food service ware, cosmetic, or personal care product that contains perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, with certain exceptions.
