Primary HB 941
In committee · Hawaii House · Lead sponsor
RELATING TO PEDESTRIANS.

Maddy summaryHB 941 would allow pedestrians to cross roadways against traffic flow (e.g., against a "Walk" signal) under specific, undefined circumstances, directly affecting pedestrians in areas where such crossings are currently prohibited. The bill's key provision overrides standard traffic code requirements for pedestrian crossings during these designated situations. It does not specify what those circumstances are or how enforcement would work. This policy change modifies existing traffic rules for pedestrian movement but does not address broader safety infrastructure or enforcement details.
