Establishes requirements for gerontologist licensure beginning on 7/1/2018.
Provides a bidder of a public works construction project with two working days after the closing of bids to provide the name of each joint contractor or subcontractor and the nature and scope of the work to be performed by each. Allows the bidder to replace a subcontractor that is not in compliance with these requirements, provided that the price of the total bid remains the same.
Requires any person applying for a license as an electrical contractor, pole and line contractor, high voltage electrical contractor, or electronic systems contractor to possess a trade license or an electrical engineering degree from an accredited college to perform electrical work in the State. Implements the recommendations of the working group convened pursuant to House Concurrent Resolution No. 90, Regular Session of 2016, by establishing and appropriating funds for a three-year community paramedic services pilot program. Requires a report to the Legislature before the Regular Session of 2021.
Temporarily requires parties in a divorce proceeding to refrain from moving a child from a county of residence, removing the child from school, interfering with custodial arrangements, or discontinuing payments on financial obligations. Expedites mediation and financial and property disclosure.
Requires all arbitrators to disclose known, direct, and material financial or personal interests. Authorizes a court to vacate an arbitration award if that arbitrator failed to make a proper disclosure.
Establishes that the offense of abuse of a family or household member is a petty misdemeanor with a jail sentence of no less than forty-eight hours and no more than thirty days. Establishes that for a second offense that occurs within five years of the first conviction of the offense of abuse of a family or household member is a misdemeanor and the person shall be termed a "repeat offender". Establishes that a third or subsequent offense that occurs within five, rather than two, years of a second or subsequent conviction of the offense is a class C felony. Allows the prosecution to use prior convictions of the offense of abuse of a family or household member as evidence in the instant offense committed by a repeat offender. Requires that court ordered domestic violence intervention programs include anger management training. Requires the judiciary, in cooperation with the prosecutor of each county and police department of each county, to annually compile and report on statistics regarding arrests, charges, and convictions based on the offense of abuse of a family or household member. Repeals and reenacts the offense of abuse of a family or household member on 06/30/20.
Enacts safeguards regarding the use of pesticides at private child day care centers.
Establishes licensure requirements for the practice of midwifery. Requires the Director of Commerce and Consumer Affairs to adopt rules regulating the practice of midwifery.
