Requires health insurance policies and contracts issued on or after 01/01/2024 to provide coverage for the cost of hearing aids at a minimum of $1,500 per hearing aid for each hearing-impaired ear every thirty-six months. Effective 01/01/2024.
For policies, contracts, plans, agreements, and plan contracts issued or renewed after 12/31/2023, requires insurers, mutual benefit societies, and health maintenance organizations to provide coverage for standard fertility preservation services.
Authorizes the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands to perform historic preservation reviews of the effect of any proposed project for lands under its jurisdiction except for projects affecting properties listed or nominated for inclusion in the Hawaii register of historic places or the national register of historic places.
Requires issuers of Medigap insurance in the State to accept an eligible individual's application for coverage at any time throughout the year and prohibits issuers from denying the applicant a Medigap policy or certificate or make any premium rate distinctions because of health status. Requires the Insurance Commissioner to amend or adopt rules accordingly.
Expands the coffee labeling and advertising requirements to include ready-to-drink coffee beverages and inner packages and inner wrapping labels. Requires disclosure on the label of coffee blends of the respective geographic and regional origins and per cent by weight of the blended coffees. Prohibits use of the term "All Hawaiian" in labeling or advertising for roasted coffee or instant coffee not produced entirely from green coffee beans grown and processed in Hawaii.
Appropriates funds for three program specialist positions within the Executive Office on Aging for Hawaii's State Health Insurance Assistance Program.
Amends the Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2022 to specify that the appropriation for Hawaii housing finance and development corporation (BED160) is to be deposited into and expended from the affordable homeownership revolving fund for purposes of the revolving fund.
Requires original equipment manufacturers of digital electronic equipment to make documentation, parts, and tools available to independent repair providers and owners for the purposes of diagnosis, maintenance, and repair on fair and reasonable terms. Excludes certain manufacturers, dealers, distributors, and importers of certain motor vehicles or motor vehicle equipment, all-terrain sports vehicles and motorcycles, heavy construction equipment, and medical equipment valued at or over $100,000.
Allows the Governor to enter the State into the multi-state Nurse Licensure Compact, which will allow a nurse who is licensed by a home state to practice under a multi-state licensure privilege in each party state.
Extends and modifies the task force established to recommend amendments to update existing parentage laws that reflect outdated, cisheteronormative concepts of families, parenthood, and parental rights to December 31, 2024.
