Requires the Legislative Reference Bureau to study the feasibility and cost effect of establishing an Office of Administrative Hearings that conducts administrative hearings for the State's executive branch agencies. A report of findings and recommendations, including proposed legislation shall be presented to the Legislature prior to the Regular Session of 2018. (HB77 HD1)
Establishes a class C felony for an assault against a utility worker that causes serious or substantial bodily injury or an assault against a utility worker with a dangerous instrument that causes bodily injury. (HB796 HD1)
Streamlines the reporting requirements of the Department of Human Services (DHS)and the family courts to require DHS, upon direction of the court, to provide the family court with an oral or written report regarding the safety of a minor child of the parties on or prior to the next regularly scheduled court hearing. Requires all limited service pregnancy centers to accurately disclose availability and enrollment information for reproductive health services. Strengthens the safe sleep policy for child care facilities for children less than a year of age, including requiring placement of children on their backs for sleeping, discussing the policy with the child's parent or legal guardian, and establishing notice and annual training requirements. Requires child care facilities to report to the Department of Human Services the death of a child less than a year of age in such a facility. (HB684 HD1)
Requires health insurance policies and contracts issued after 12/31/18 to provide coverage for the cost of hearing aids at a minimum of $1,500 per hearing aid for each hearing-impaired ear every thirty-six months.
