Requires certain employers to provide a minimum amount of paid sick leave to employees to be used to care for themselves or a family member who is ill or needs medical care and supplemental paid sick leave to employees under certain public health emergency conditions.
Repeals the prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia under the uniform controlled substances act.
Prohibits concealed firearms in certain sensitive locations. Requires the department of the attorney general to publish an annual report on licenses to carry. Amends requirements for firearm permitting and licenses to carry firearms. Effective 7/1/2050.
Requires each county to establish rates of compensation for members of certain qualifying county boards, commissions, authorities, and committees. Requires each county to submit a report to the Legislature regarding the county's compliance with this Act. Appropriates moneys to each county for the purpose of providing the compensation required by this Act.
Establishes a five-year pilot program in the department of health to expand existing county programs that make one or more mental health professionals available to assist county first responders in responding to mental health crises in areas in the urban core with high rates of homelessness. Requires a report to the legislature. Appropriates funds.
Requires the department of health to conduct a feasibility study for the establishment of an outpatient mental health facility for children and adolescents living in the Ocean View region of Hawaii island, including in the communities of Ocean View, Milolii, Naalehu, and Pahala.
Increases the minimum penalty imposed upon homeowners, renters, and managers of real property when they intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly allow others to unlawfully use aerial devices from their respective properties after 9:00 p.m. and before 9:00 a.m.
Requires a qualified school librarian and library resources on the campus of every public school in Hawaii by 6/30/2026. Appropriates funds.
Requires the judiciary to establish a uniform procedure for adjusting payments and partner with other state agencies for ability to pay determinations. Sets the community service conversion rate for certain monetary penalties. Appropriates funds to develop a legal financial obligation calculator.
Requires the Department of Education to waive school bus fees for fiscal years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. Appropriates moneys.
