RELATING TO SCHOOL MEALS.

Requires eligible schools to participate in the federal Community Eligibility Provision, which provides federal funds to help schools offer free meals to all students. Appropriates moneys for any difference between federal funds amounts and costs of providing free meals. Declares that the general fund expenditure ceiling will be exceeded.

RELATING TO THE HAWAII EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY.

Authorizes the issuance of general obligation bonds and appropriates funds for planning, design, and construction for a warehouse to expand the Hawaiʻi emergency management agency's ability to store and deploy supplies and equipment to all counties within the State. Effective 7/1/3000. (HD1)

RELATING TO HOUSING.

Requires, for fixed-term tenancies, a landlord to notify a tenant of any intent to raise the rent for any subsequent rental agreement or any intent to terminate a rental agreement sixty days before the expiration of the original rental agreement. Increases the required notice period for intent to terminate for week-to-week tenancies. Effective 7/1/3000. (HD1)

RELATING TO INSURANCE.

RELATING TO CREATIVE MEDIA.

Establishes the Filmmakers Special Fund for the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts to award grants for film, media, and creative industries intellectual property development projects in Hawaiʻi. RELATING TO HAWAII EDUCATOR LOANS.

Opens eligibility under the Hawaiʻi Educator Loan Program for students and teachers who agree to teach as a full-time teacher in a public charter school. Decreases the service requirement for total loan forgiveness to five years and increases the percent of the total loan award to be waived annually under the Hawaiʻi Educator Loan Program. Appropriates funds into and out of the Hawaiʻi educator loan program revolving fund to provide financial assistance for students participating under the Hawaiʻi educator loan program. Effective 7/1/3000. (HD1)

RELATING TO SINGLE-USE PLASTICS.

Prohibits businesses where food or beverages are packaged and sold on the business' premises for individual consumption from using, selling, or distributing certain disposable or single-use food ware and beverage service items after 1/1/2025. Effective 7/1/3000. (HD1)
