RELATING TO CHAPTER 302D, HAWAII REVISED STATUTES.

RELATING TO UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII ATHLETICS.

Authorizes the organization of low-profit limited liability companies as business entities for the accomplishment of charitable or educational purposes and not for the significant purpose of production of income or appreciation of property.

Establishes an income tax credit for agricultural businesses that lose income because the business took land out of active production to comply with federal food safety requirements. (HB230 HD1)

RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Repeals provisions that established the start and end dates of a limited time period for claiming the tax credit. Includes costs of land preparation and soil restoration on former plantation lands that have been unused for more than five years as qualified costs to claim the tax credit. (HB572 HD1)

RELATING TO WATER.

Requires an owner or prior owner of an abandoned well to repair or seal the well at the owner's or prior owner's expense. Appropriates funds for three new positions to assist DLNR with the inspection of abandoned wells, the enforcement of well construction and pump installation standards, and enforcement of well abandonment requirements. RELATING TO HOMELESSNESS.

Authorizes any continuum of care to offer a stipend to volunteers assisting in the point-in-time count conducted annually to determine the number of homeless individuals in the State, as a condition of receiving federal homeless assistance from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. RELATING TO REMOTE TESTIMONY.

Establishes the Remote Testimony Task Force to develop procedures to make available remote testimony technology throughout the State that enables the public to testify remotely via the Internet during legislative proceedings. Requires the Legislature to adopt rules to establish remote testimony capability. Makes an appropriation. (HB1547 HD1)
