Our Community Salutes; recognize

Maddy summarySR 826 is a Senate resolution recognizing the nonprofit organization "Our Community Salutes" for its work supporting high school students enlisting in the U.S. military. The resolution commends the organization for hosting annual recognition ceremonies that celebrate enlistees, provide resources to their families, and foster community support during their transition to military service. It directly honors the nonprofit and the enlistees (high school seniors joining the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Space Force) and their families. As a ceremonial resolution, it does not create new laws or allocate funding but formally expresses legislative support for the organization's mission.

American Heart Month; recognize February 2026

Maddy summaryThis is a symbolic Senate resolution (SR 684), not a law. It formally recognizes February 2026 as "American Heart Month" in the state. The resolution cites statistics on cardiac arrest and CPR effectiveness but does not create new requirements, funding, or policy changes. It simply encourages residents to learn CPR and promotes awareness of cardiac emergency response. The resolution passed the Senate but has no direct effect on individuals or programs.
