A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Article 14 of Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the O.C.G.A., relating to elementary and secondary education grants, so as to provide for the State Board of Education to establish a five-year school pilot program to increase the availability of effective school counseling and postsecondary preparation services in secondary schools to increase high school graduation rates and the percentage of students who continue into postsecondary education; and for other purposes.

A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Part 2 of Article 6 of Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to competencies and core curriculum under the "Quality Basic Education Act," so as to require local boards of education to provide instruction in cursive writing; to require the State Board of Education to adopt content standards for instruction in cursive writing and to determine the appropriate grade levels for such instruction; to provide for related matters; to provide for a short title; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Code Section 20-2B-23 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to requirements for participating schools, responsibilities of education savings authority, prohibited requirements, and agency not established, so as to require participating schools to prepare school safety plans that meet certain requirements; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Chapter 5 of Title 48 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to ad valorem taxation of property, so as to provide for an additional period to appeal certain property assessments; to require the annual notice of assessment for property taxes to include an estimate of the current year's taxes and a statement regarding such estimate; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
