Law and statutes; effect and enforcement of foreign laws; revise provisions

A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Chapter 3 of Title 1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to laws and statutes, so as to revise provisions relating to the effect and enforcement of foreign laws; to provide that no court, arbitration panel, administrative agency, or other tribunal shall enforce a foreign law if doing so would violate a right guaranteed by the United States Constitution or the Georgia Constitution; to provide for definitions; to provide for exceptions; to change provisions relating to forum non conveniens; to amend Part 1 of Article 2 of Chapter 10 of Title 9 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions regarding venue, so as to provide for a cross-reference; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date and applicability; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

Georgia Medical Freedom Act; enact

A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Titles 15 and 19 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the courts and domestic relations, respectively, so as to revise the definition of legal father; to amend Title 31 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to health, so as to require that licensed general hospitals and birthing centers make available a petition for legitimation education video to parents or guardians of newborn infants; to provide that a putative father may indicate on a certificate of birth that he has submitted to genetic testing to establish paternity of a child born out of wedlock; to amend Title 53 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to wills, trusts, and administration of estates, so as to provide for inheritance by legitimation in certain circumstances; to provide a short title; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
