Maddy summaryThis bill establishes a new interdivisional taskforce within the Securities and Exchange Commission to address the needs and challenges faced by senior investors, defined as individuals over the age of 65. The taskforce will be led by a director appointed by the SEC Chairman and will include staff from enforcement, compliance, and investor education divisions to identify problems senior investors face, such as financial exploitation and cognitive decline. The group will produce biennial reports to Congress analyzing trends, regulatory gaps, and recommendations for policy improvements while coordinating with state regulators and other federal agencies. Additionally, the bill requires the Government Accountability Office to conduct a study within two years of enactment to assess the economic costs and frequency of financial exploitation of senior citizens. The taskforce will operate for ten years using existing funds without additional compensation for its members.

Maddy summaryThis bill, known as the Raising Awareness for Youth Suicide Prevention Act, requires schools that receive federal education funding to include mental health and suicide prevention resources on student identification cards. The law mandates that these cards display contact information for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, the Crisis Text Line, and any state or local suicide prevention hotlines available in the area. Schools that do not issue physical ID cards must instead post this information prominently on their websites and include it on digital platforms students regularly use. The bill also directs the federal education secretary to run outreach campaigns to help students, parents, and school staff learn about these mental health resources.
Maddy summaryThis bill would require the U.S. Treasury to produce and sell three types of commemorative coins honoring firefighters and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial. The legislation authorizes the minting of up to 50,000 $5 gold coins, 400,000 $1 silver coins, and 750,000 half-dollar coins, all featuring designs that recognize firefighter service and sacrifice. All coins would be legal tender, but they would be sold at a price that covers production costs plus a surcharge, with the surcharge funds going to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The coins would only be available for purchase during a one-year window starting in 2029, and the Treasury must ensure the program does not result in a net cost to the federal government.
Living Donor Protection Act of 2025 This bill prohibits life insurance, disability insurance, and long-term insurance carriers from denying or otherwise restricting coverage for living organ donors. Specifically, carriers may not deny, cancel, vary premiums, or otherwise impose conditions on policies based on an individual's status as a living organ donor. The bill also expressly specifies that recovery from organ-donation surgery constitutes a serious health condition that entitles eligible employees to job-protected medical leave. In addition, the Department of Health and Human Services must update educational materials on living organ donation to include information about the benefits and risks of living organ donation and the impact of donation on insurance access, particularly with respect to the bill's changes.
Maddy summaryThis bill, known as the DIABETES Act, aims to improve Medicare coverage for diabetes technology and education services. It would require Medicare to continue covering diabetes devices like continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps when beneficiaries enroll in the program, preventing loss of access during enrollment transitions. The legislation also expands coverage for diabetes self-management training services, removes deductibles for these services, and authorizes virtual training options. Additionally, it directs the government to study barriers to diabetes care access and establish new billing codes for insulin pump training services.
Maddy summaryThis bill establishes the America's Living Library Project, a pilot program within the Department of the Interior to collect and analyze genomic data from species found in National Park System units. The program will create a publicly available genomic database while protecting sensitive location information and requires coordination with multiple federal agencies including the National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution, and Department of Agriculture. It authorizes funding through fiscal year 2031 to support genome sequencing, sample storage, and data management, with initial implementation at five selected parks and potential expansion to twenty additional units within two years. The bill also mandates tribal consultation, establishes cybersecurity safeguards for genomic data, and includes provisions for long-term sample storage in U.S. facilities only.

It recognizes FFA’s role in developing leadership and career skills for students (with over 1 million members nationally) and celebrates the 50th anniversary of Alaska’s State FFA Association, which has 19 chapters and 493 members. As a symbolic resolution, it has no legal effect but formally expresses Senate support for FFA’s mission.

The resolution highlights public schools' importance in fostering inclusive learning environments and preparing students for civic and economic participation, citing that 87% of U.S. children attend public schools. The resolution aligns with broader efforts to support public education but focuses solely on commemoration.
Maddy summaryThis bill expands Medicare Part B coverage for medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to include more chronic conditions beyond diabetes and kidney disease. It directly affects Medicare beneficiaries with conditions like obesity, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, eating disorders, and others listed in the bill. Key provisions broaden the definition of covered conditions and allow additional healthcare providers (like nurse practitioners and clinical psychologists for eating disorders) to deliver MNT services. The change would make MNT services covered for prevention, management, or treatment of these additional conditions, as determined by the Secretary.
Maddy summaryThis bill, known as the TAP Promotion Act, would allow representatives from recognized veterans service organizations to join presentations that inform service members about benefits they can access after leaving the military. These presentations are part of the Transition Assistance Program, which helps veterans prepare for civilian life, and the law requires that they be standardized and approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs before being used. The bill also mandates that the presentations include information on how veterans service organizations can help with filing benefit claims, while prohibiting any effort to encourage members to join a specific organization. Additionally, the Department of Veterans Affairs must submit an annual report to Congress detailing which organizations participated in these sessions and how many service members attended.
