Restoration of Osborne Reef; Requiring the Department of Environmental Protection to submit a status report on the Osborne Reef cleanup and tire removal project to the Legislature by a specified date; requiring the department to develop a restoration plan for the reef by a specified date; providing requirements for the restoration plan; requiring the department to submit a report to the Legislature upon completion of the plan; providing requirements for the report, etc.
Emergency Response Mapping Data; Creating the School Mapping Data Grant Program within the Department of Education; authorizing each school district to apply for funds to provide mapping data for public school buildings; authorizing a school district to use the funds to procure a vendor; requiring the entity that produces the data to provide the data to certain entities, etc.
Public Nuisances; Prohibiting a person from intentionally dumping onto private property litter that evidences religious or ethnic animus toward an owner or invitee of such property; providing criminal penalties; prohibiting a person from willfully and maliciously harassing, threatening, or intimidating another person based on the person’s wearing or displaying of any indicia relating to any religious or ethnic heritage; removing a minimum damage requirement for a violation, etc.
Student Use of Social Media Platforms; Requiring members of the instructional staff of public schools to provide instruction on the social, emotional, and physical effects of social media to students in specified grades; requiring that district school board codes of student conduct include a prohibition against students using wireless communications devices during instructional time and authorization for teachers to withhold a student’s device, with an exception for use at the direction of the teacher; requiring each school district to prohibit and prevent students from accessing social media platforms through the use of Internet access provided by the school district, etc.
