Dozier School for Boys and Okeechobee School Victim Compensation Program; Establishing the Dozier School for Boys and Okeechobee School Victim Compensation Program within the Department of Legal Affairs; requiring the department to accept and process applications for the payment of compensation claims under the program; requiring the department to provide specified notice of the program; requiring the department, subject to the appropriation of funds for that purpose, to pay a specified compensation amount to approved applicants, etc. APPROPRIATION: $20,000,000

Interpersonal Violence Injunction Petitions; Revising a requirement that petitions for injunction for protection against domestic violence, repeat violence, sexual violence, or dating violence, and stalking, respectively, be verified, rather than sworn to; revising the form for such petitions for injunction to require a person to verify, rather than swear to, certain statements; requiring the clerk of the court to include an injunction in the Driver and Vehicle Information Database, etc.

Public Records/School Guardians; Providing that certain information relating to school guardians held by the Department of Law Enforcement, a law enforcement agency, a school district, or a charter school is exempt from public records requirements; providing for future legislative review and repeal of the exemption; providing a statement of public necessity, etc.

Antisemitism; Defining the term “antisemitism”; providing contemporary examples of antisemitism, etc.

Angelman Syndrome Awareness Day; Recognizing February 15, 2024, as Angelman Syndrome Awareness Day, etc.

Education; Deleting a requirement that the State Board of Education establish the cost of certain tuition and fees; deleting a requirement that a performance contract be completed if a student participates in an Academically Challenging Curriculum to Enhance Learning option; requiring the Department of Education to review school readiness program plans every 3 years, rather than every 2 years; authorizing school districts to assess a processing fee for certain objections to materials; revising a provision relating to the No Child Left Behind Act to relate to the Every Student Succeeds Act, etc.

Security Grants; Expanding the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to include additional organizations; revising eligibility criteria to be awarded a grant; requiring that certain rules be adopted by the Division of Emergency Management, etc. APPROPRIATION: $35,000,000

Support for the State of Israel; Expressing support for the State of Israel and condemning the attacks and hateful actions by the Hamas terrorist group, etc.

Authorization of Restrictions Concerning Dogs; Authorizing public housing authorities to adopt certain policies relating to dogs; removing an exemption for local breed-specific ordinances adopted before a specified date, etc.

Blood Clot and Pulmonary Embolism Policy Workgroup; Citing this act as the “Emily Adkins Prevention Act”; requiring the Secretary of Health Care Administration, in conjunction with the State Surgeon General, to establish a blood clot and pulmonary embolism policy workgroup; requiring the secretary to submit a final report to the Governor and the Legislature by a specified date, etc.
