Mental Health; Citing this act as the “Tristin Murphy Act”; expanding the programs and diversion initiatives supported by implementation or expansion grants to include training for 911 public safety telecommunicators and emergency medical technicians for certain purposes and to include veterans treatment court programs; encouraging communities to apply for specified grants to establish misdemeanor or ordinance violation mental health diversion programs; encouraging communities to apply for specified grants to establish pretrial felony mental health diversion programs; expanding eligibility for the Forensic Hospital Diversion Pilot Program to include Hillsborough County, etc. APPROPRIATION: $794,880
State Department Customer Service Standards; Requiring state departments to employ a callback queue system for customers who contact the departments by telephone, etc.
Voting Opportunities on Florida College System Institution and State University Campuses; Requiring the establishment of certain early voting sites; requiring the establishment of certain polling places; requiring each campus Office of Public Policy Events to publicize certain voting opportunities in a specified manner, etc.
Property Insurance Policies; Specifying that certain provisions relating to homeowners’ policies, offers of replacement cost coverage, and offers of law and ordinance coverage do not prohibit insurers from providing specified property insurance policies by including roof covering reimbursement schedules; prohibiting application of a roof covering reimbursement schedule under certain circumstances; specifying that certain provisions relating to homeowners’ policies, offers of replacement cost coverage, and offers of law and ordinance coverage do not prohibit insurers from providing specified property insurance policies by offering roof reimbursement on the basis of replacement costs, etc.
Refund of Taxes for Residential Improvements Rendered Uninhabitable by a Catastrophic Event; Revising the date property appraisers must take certain actions relating to residential improvements rendered uninhabitable by a catastrophic event, etc.
Marriage Between Persons of the Same Sex; Repealing provisions relating to marriage between persons of the same sex; deleting a prohibition on the recognition of same-sex marriages; deleting a prohibition on the state and its agencies and subdivisions giving effect to a public act, record, or judicial proceeding that respects a same-sex marriage or relationship or a claim arising from such marriage or relationship, etc.
Weapons and Firearms; Citing this act as the “Responsible Gun Ownership Act”; requiring background checks on all persons involved in a firearm sale or other transfer; specifying requirements for firearm sales or transfers through licensed dealers; providing criminal penalties; prohibiting certain actions leading to the manufacture or assembly, sale, importing, purchasing, offering for sale, or transfer of a firearm not imprinted with a valid serial number, etc.
Public Records/Sexual Assault Counselors; Providing an exemption from public records requirements for the personal identifying and location information of sexual assault counselors; providing for future legislative review and repeal of the exemption; providing for retroactive application; providing a statement of public necessity, etc.
