Alternative Headquarters for District Court of Appeal Judges; Authorizing a district court of appeal judge to have an appropriate facility in a county adjacent to his or her county of residence as the judge’s official headquarters; authorizing subsistence and travel reimbursement to such judges, etc.
Equitable Distribution of Marital Assets and Liabilities; Requiring a court to consider certain factors when determining if extraordinary circumstances exist; prohibiting certain interspousal gifts unless certain requirements are met; providing that certain actions do not change whether certain real property is marital property; providing that business interest in a closely held business is a marital asset, etc.
Excusal from Jury Service; Requiring that a woman who has recently given birth be excused from certain jury service under specified conditions, etc.
Public Works Projects; Revising the definition of the term “public works project”; deleting a prohibited activity of the state or a political subdivision that contracts for a public works project; authorizing political subdivisions that are the sole source of funding for a public works project to prevent certain contractors and subcontractors and material suppliers or carriers from participating in the bidding process for that project based on the geographic location of the company headquarters or offices or the residences of their employees, etc.
Support for the State of Israel; Expressing support for the State of Israel and condemning the attacks and hateful actions by the Hamas terrorist group, etc.
Relief of Robert Earl DuBoise by the State of Florida; Providing for the relief of Robert Earl DuBoise; providing an appropriation to compensate Mr. DuBoise for being wrongfully incarcerated for almost 37 years; prohibiting funds awarded under the act to Mr. DuBoise from being used or paid for specified attorney or lobbying fees; requiring specific reimbursement to the state should a civil award be issued subsequent to Mr. DuBoise’s receipt of payment under the act, etc. CLAIM WITH APPROPRIATION: $1,850,000
Adoption; Specifying that certain adoption consents are valid, binding, and enforceable by the court; deleting a provision regarding the sufficiency of the home study provided by the adoption entity; requiring the court to order the transfer of custody of the child to the prospective adoptive parents under certain circumstances and in accordance with a certain transition plan; requiring the adoption entity to provide monthly supervision reports for a specified time; providing that a person contemplating adoption of a child may make specified payments to the mother of the child for a specified period of time regardless of whether the medical needs of the mother require such support, etc.
Level 2 Background Screenings; Requiring persons with an affiliation to certain qualified entities to undergo security background investigations; authorizing the head of a qualified entity to grant a person with an affiliation an exemption from disqualification under certain circumstances; authorizing certain qualified entities to participate in the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse beginning on a specified date; expanding the agencies and entities which may use the Criminal Justice Information Program; requiring the agency to make certain determinations regarding the eligibility of certain noninstructional contractors beginning on a specified date, etc. APPROPRIATION: $4,400,000
