Amblyopia Awareness Month; Recognizing August 2022 as “Amblyopia Awareness Month” in Florida, etc.

Days of Remembrance and Holocaust Remembrance Day; Recognizing the week of April 24 through May 1, 2022, as the “Days of Remembrance” and April 28, 2022, as “Holocaust Remembrance Day” in Florida, etc.

Estates and Trusts; Requiring the court to allow an officer to elect to post and maintain a certain bond; providing that certain provisions of a will are void upon dissolution of marriage; specifying that a trust director submits to specified personal jurisdiction by accepting appointment as a trust director; creating the "Community Property Trust Act"; providing that certain property held in a community property trust qualifies as homestead property, etc.

Purple Alert; Requiring the Department of Law Enforcement, in cooperation with the Department of Transportation, the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, the Department of the Lottery, and local law enforcement agencies, to establish and implement the Purple Alert; requiring the local law enforcement agency having jurisdiction to notify media and alert subscribers if a Purple Alert is determined to be necessary and appropriate; providing that the Department of Law Enforcement, as the Purple Alert coordinator, and certain agencies, employees, individuals, and entities are immune from civil liability for damages when performing certain actions in good faith, etc. APPROPRIATION: $199,901

Specialty License Plates/Disease Prevention & Early Detection; Directing the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to develop a Disease Prevention & Early Detection specialty license plate; providing for distribution and use of fees collected from the sale of the plate, etc.

Renewable Energy Sources; Authorizing a public educational customer to enter into a contract for the installation, maintenance, or operation of a renewable energy source device located on property owned or controlled by the public educational customer; providing that financing arrangements for such contracts are not considered retail sales of electricity; requiring electric utilities to provide meter aggregation to public educational customers under certain circumstances; authorizing business entities or third parties contracted by such owners to install, maintain, and operate a renewable energy source device on or about the structure in which the business entity operates or on a property the business entity owns or leases, etc.

Insurance Coverage for Breast Cancer Tests and Procedures; Prohibiting certain health insurance policies and health maintenance contracts from applying cost-sharing requirements to certain breast cancer tests and procedures; authorizing the Financial Services Commission to adopt rules, etc.

Florida Family Caregiver Task Force; Establishing the task force within the Department of Health for a specified purpose; requiring the department to provide administrative and technical assistance to the task force; requiring state agencies to assist and cooperate with the task force under certain circumstances; requiring the task force to submit a final report to the Governor, the Legislature, the State Surgeon General, and the director of the Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability by a specified date; providing for expiration of the task force, etc.

Risk Protection Orders; Redefining the term “petitioner” to include an individual who has a biological or legal parent-child relationship with, who is a legal guardian of, or who is a spouse or sibling of a respondent, etc.

Student Retention; Authorizing a parent or guardian to request that his or her K-5 student be retained in a grade level for academic reasons for a specified school year; requiring school principals to consider such requests if they are timely received; requiring a school principal who considers a request for retention to inform the student’s teachers of the request and collaboratively discuss with the parent or guardian any basis for agreement or disagreement with the request; requiring a parent or guardian to sign a form provided by the principal indicating the parent or guardian’s decision and acknowledging the academic and athletic ramifications of their decision, etc.
