Student Support Services for K-12 Schools; Authorizing district school boards to refer students to organizations that provide specified student support services; providing requirements for such organizations; providing requirements relating to level 2 background screenings for specified persons; requiring certain public schools to post and maintain specified information on their websites, etc.
Education in the Criminal Justice System; Authorizing the Department of Corrections to award gain time for an inmate who completes specified education programs; revising the purpose of the Florida Virtual School to provide for the development and delivery of blended learning; requiring the Florida Virtual School to establish the Florida Virtual School Justice Education Program, beginning with a specified school year; requiring the Department of Education, with assistance from specified entities, to select a common student assessment instrument and protocol for measuring student learning gains and progression, etc.
Electric Vehicle Registration Fees; Defining the term “battery electric vehicle”; requiring the owner of a battery electric vehicle to pay certain annual registration fees; requiring that such fees be deposited into the State Transportation Trust Fund and used for a certain purpose, etc.
Deferred Compensation Plans for Public Employees; Citing this act as the "Deferred Compensation Automatic Enrollment Act"; authorizing the inclusion of an automatic enrollment arrangement in a government employee’s deferred compensation plan; requiring that the automatic enrollment arrangement provide employees the ability to make certain elections regarding contributions; requiring that the plan provide for a default investment into which contributions must be placed under a specified circumstance; authorizing counties, municipalities, political subdivisions, and constitutional county officers to adopt automatic enrollment arrangements for specified deferred compensation programs, etc.
Regulation of Chickees; Defining the term “chickee”; prohibiting counties and municipalities, respectively, from enacting ordinances, regulations, or policies that prevent construction of chickees under certain circumstances or that are more restrictive than federal floodplain management regulations; providing that later incorporation of certain features into an existing chickee requires a permit; providing criminal penalties for persons who are not members of specific tribes and who construct chickees in an attempt to circumvent the Florida Building Code, etc.
Medical Marijuana Use Registry Identification Cards for Veterans; Requiring the Department of Health to charge a reduced fee for the issuance, replacement, or renewal of medical marijuana use registry identification cards for qualified patients who are honorably discharged veterans; providing requirements for proof of identification, etc.
Consumers’ Right to Repair Certain Equipment; Creating the "Portable Wireless Device Repair Act"; requiring portable wireless device manufacturers to make certain items available to device owners and independent repair providers; prohibiting certain manufacturers from requiring authorized repair providers to continue purchasing certain information in a proprietary format; requiring original equipment manufacturers of agricultural equipment to make certain diagnostic and repair information available for no charge and in a certain manner to independent repair providers and owners, etc.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Autonomous Practice; Authorizing certain advanced practice registered nurses to engage in autonomous practice to provide mental health services as defined by rule of the Board of Nursing, etc.
Department of Transportation Contractor Liability; Providing that a contractor is considered an agent of the state in certain circumstances; requiring contract documents to indemnify the department for liability caused by the negligence of the contractor or its employees, etc.
