Animal Cruelty Offenses; Prohibits engaging in specified acts of animal cruelty in presence of child or causing or enticing child to engage in such acts; increases offense severity ranking of offense of fighting or bating animals.
Memory Care ; Requires memory care providers to follow specified standards of operation in providing memory care services; provides requirements for resident contracts; provides requirements for memory care facilities; prohibits certain facilities from advertising, representing, or holding themselves out as memory care providers unless such facilities meet specified criteria; removes provisions relating to special care for persons with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory disorders; provides purpose & legislative intent for Florida Alzheimer's Center of Excellence; provides duties of center; provides eligibility requirements for services.
Specific Medical Diagnoses in Child Protective Investigations; Provides exception to requirement that DCF immediately forward certain allegations to law enforcement agency; requires child protective investigator to inform subject of investigation of certain duty; requires Child Protection Teams to consult with licensed physician or APRN when evaluating certain reports; authorizes, under certain circumstance, parent or legal custodian from whom child was removed to request specified examinations of child; requires that certain examinations be paid for by parent or legal custodian making request or as otherwise covered by insurance or Medicaid.
Use of Artificial Intelligence by Governmental Agencies to Detect Concealed Firearms; Prohibits governmental agency or specified contractors from using or contracting with any other entities to use artificial intelligence to detect concealed firearms in public places; provides exceptions; provides remedy.
Student Elopement; Requires public schools to create School Staff Assistance for Emergencies (SAFE) Team & school elopement plan; provides requirements for SAFE Teams, elopement plans, & schools.
Faith-based Content in Batterer's Intervention Program ; Specifies that batterers' intervention programs may include faith-based activities, but may not require participation in such activities.
Medical Marijuana Use Registry Identification Cards; Requires medical marijuana use registry identifications cards to be renewed biennially; prohibits DOH from charging fee for issuance, replacement, or renewal of ID card for honorably discharged veteran; provides requirements for proof of identification.
School Readiness Program; Revises requirements for specified statewide data information program within school readiness program; revises requirements for program's uniform waiting list; revises requirements for determining school readiness program allocation.
Termination of Rental Agreement by Victim of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Violence, or Stalking; Prohibits landlord from evicting tenant or terminating rental agreement because tenant or tenant's minor child is victim of actual or threatened domestic violence, dating violence, sexual violence, or stalking; specifies that rental agreement may not contain certain provisions; authorizes victim of such actual or threatened violence or stalking to terminate rental agreement; requires certain documentation & written notice to landlord; provides for liability for rent for both tenant & perpetrator, if applicable; specifies that tenant does not forfeit certain money paid to landlord for terminating rental agreement; requires landlord to change locks of dwelling unit within specified time period; authorizes tenant to change locks of dwelling unit; prohibits certain actions by landlord; authorizes filing of civil action & award of damages, fees, & costs; prohibits waiver of certain provisions.
Family Empowerment Scholarship Program; Requires private schools participating in Family Empowerment Scholarship Program to provide specified information in writing to parents before student enrollment in school.
