Electronic Prescribing; Requires prescriptions to be telephonically transmitted or electronically generated & transmitted; prohibits electronic prescribing from interfering with patient's freedom to choose pharmacy; authorizes electronic prescribing software to display information regarding payor's formulary.
Homestead Exemptions; Deletes requirement for totally & permanently disabled person to qualify for homestead exemption gross income of persons residing in homestead must not exceed specified amount.
Early Childhood Courts; Authorizes circuit courts to create early childhood court programs; requires early childhood court programs have certain components; provides requirements & guidelines for OSCA when hiring community coordinators & statewide training specialist; authorizes Trial Court Budget Commission to provide funding to circuit courts that choose to establish coordination system in lieu of creating community coordinator position; requires DCF to contract with certain university-based centers; requires university-based centers to hire clinical director.
Punitive Damages; Removes provisions requiring portion of punitive damages awarded for certain claims relating to nursing homes & assisted living facilities to be deposited into Quality of Long-Term Care Facility Improvement Trust Fund.
Pathways to Career Opportunities; Revises provisions relating to apprenticeship & preapprenticeship programs, statewide articulation agreement, FEFP, CAPE Industry Certification Funding List; requires Articulation Coordinating Committee to approve mathematics pathways by a specified date; requires Commissioner of Education to submit to certain entities report with recommendations relating to implementation of Pathways in Technology Early College High School program; provides requirements for such program & report.
State Economic Development Entities; Revises provisions relating to workforce services to replace CareerSource Florida, Inc., with state board or DEO in relation to implementation of federal Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act; authorizes, rather than requires, certain funds to be reserved for Incumbent Worker Training Program; revises provisions relating to operation, purpose, requirements, structure, & authority of CareerSource Florida, Inc., & state board; authorizes DEO to consult with state board to issue certain technical assistance letters; authorizes Auditor General to conduct audit of certain entities & programs; requires workforce development strategy to be approved by Governor; provides that certain persons may be removed from board for cause; revises membership, annual reporting requirements, & certain contracts relating to Florida Development Finance Corporation.
