Funding for Sheriffs; Authorizing sheriffs who provide child protective investigative services to carry forward a certain percentage of unexpended state funds each fiscal year; requiring certain funds to be returned to the Department of Children and Families; requiring that certain expenditures be reported to the department, etc.
Parental Rights in Education; Requires district school boards to adopt procedures that comport with certain provisions of law for notifying student's parent of specified information; requires such procedures to reinforce fundamental right of parents to make decisions regarding upbringing & control of their children; prohibits school district from adopting procedures or student support forms that prohibit school district personnel from notifying parent about specified information or that encourage student to withhold from parent such information; prohibits school district personnel from discouraging or prohibiting parental notification & involvement in critical decisions affecting student's mental, emotional, or physical well-being; prohibits classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in certain grade levels; requires school districts to notify parents of healthcare services; authorizes parent to bring action against school district to obtain declaratory judgment; provides for additional award of injunctive relief, damages, & reasonable attorney fees & court costs to certain parents.
Additional Homestead Property Tax Exemption for Specified Critical Public Service Workforce; Proposes amendment to State Constitution to authorize Legislature, for all levies other than school district levies, to grant additional homestead property tax exemption on $50,000 of assessed value of homestead property owned by classroom teachers, law enforcement officers, correctional officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, child welfare services professionals, active duty members of United States Armed Forces, & Florida National Guard members.
Tax Discount Percentage Rates; Revises tax discount percentage rates for all taxes assessed on county tax rolls.
Applications for Driver Licenses and Identification Cards; Requires application forms for original, renewal, & replacement driver licenses & ID cards to include language allowing voluntary contribution to Armory Board for specified purpose; exempts such contributions from General Revenue Fund service charge.
