Pub. Rec./Medical Examiners; Provides public records exemption for personal identifying & location information of current & former medical examiners & spouses & children of such medical examiners; provides for future legislative review & repeal; provides for retroactive application.
Certified Recovery Residences; Revises definition of term "certified recovery residence"; requires credentialing entity to revoke certified residence's certificate of compliance if certified recovery residence willfully, knowingly, or intentionally provides false or misleading information to credentialing entity; revises applicability of provisions governing referrals to or from recovery residences.
Mandatory Human Reviews of Insurance Claim Denials; Requiring that insurers’ decisions to deny claims or any portion of a claim be made by qualified human professionals; prohibiting using algorithms, artificial intelligence, or machine learning systems as the sole basis for determining whether to adjust or deny a claim; requiring insurers to include certain information in denial communications to claimants, etc.
Activities of Special Districts; Authorizes certain special districts to jointly enter into, participate in, establish, or control specified joint relationships or collaborations if certain determination is made by such districts; authorizes such districts to exercise such powers regardless of certain consequences as result of exercising such power.
Labor Negotiations; Prohibits certain persons from knowingly & intentionally disclosing certain information unless authorized by specified persons; requires persons who receive such information to refer person who provided such information to Commission on Ethics.
State Board of Administration; Revises period of time before certain financial instruments may be canceled & certain monies may be forfeited; revises types of investments that SBA may make; authorizes SBA & affiliated limited liability entities to issue securities & borrow money through specified means.
Veterinary Professional Associates; Citing this act as the “Veterinary Workforce Innovation Act”; authorizing certain individuals to use the title “veterinary professional associate”; authorizing veterinary professional associates to perform certain duties only while under the responsible supervision of a licensed veterinarian; prohibiting such associates from prescribing certain drugs or controlled substances or performing certain surgical procedures, etc.
Revenues from Ad Valorem Taxes; Revises how rolled back rate is calculated; limits maximum millage rate that may be levied; prohibits higher rate from being levied; requires revenues collected in excess of certain amount to be disposed of in specified manner.
Instructional Hours for the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program; Revising the instructional hours required to be delivered in the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program for school-year and summer programs, etc.
Student Elopement; Requires public schools to create School Staff Assistance for Emergencies (SAFE) Team & school elopement plan; provides requirements for SAFE Teams, elopement plans, & schools.
Guardianship; Prohibiting a guardian from restricting the ability of an adult ward to maintain contact with a person except in certain circumstances; requiring that an initial guardianship plan identify the persons entitled to certain information; requiring that an initial guardianship plan for an incapacitated person identify persons entitled to certain notice and to visit the incapacitated person, etc.
