RECOGNIZING APRIL 9, 2025, AS "DELAWARE TEACH CHILDREN TO SAVE DAY".

Maddy summaryThis bill (HCR 28) is a symbolic resolution recognizing April 9, 2025, as "Delaware Teach Children to Save Day." It does not create new laws, programs, or funding; it solely serves to commemorate the date through a formal statement by Delaware's legislature. The resolution directly affects Delaware state government by designating a specific day for recognition, but it has no binding effect on schools, families, or financial policies. No concrete policy changes or mechanisms are implemented - this is purely a commemorative gesture with no practical impact on financial education efforts.

AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 30 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO PERSONAL INCOME TAX MODIFICATIONS SUBTRACTED FROM FEDERAL ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME.

Maddy summaryThis bill increases Delaware's personal income tax exclusion for pension income from $12,500 to $25,000 annually. It directly affects Delaware residents who receive pension income, allowing them to exclude more of that income when calculating their state taxable income. The key provision doubles the amount of pension earnings that are exempt from state taxation. This change reduces the state tax burden for qualifying pensioners without altering other tax rates or brackets.

It directly affects Delaware residents by promoting public recognition of Parkinson's disease, though it has no binding policy requirements.
