HB 62: Relating to building codes; to provide a limited exemption to applicable building codes for certain nonprofit veterans' organizations that acquire certain buildings under certain conditions.

SB 204: To adopt and incorporate into the Code of Alabama 1975, those general and permanent laws of the state enacted during the 2021 First Special Session, the 2021 Second Special Session, the 2022 First Special Session, and the 2022 Regular Session as contained in the 2022 Cumulative Supplements to certain volumes of the code and 2023 Replacement Volumes 13, 13A, and 13B; and to adopt and incorporate into the Code of Alabama 1975, the 2022 Cumulative Supplements to local law volumes; to make corrections in certain volumes of the cumulative supplements and replacement volumes; to specify that this adoption and incorporation constitute a continuous systematic codification of the entire Code of Alabama 1975, and that this act is a law that adopts a code; to declare that the Code Publisher has certified that it has discharged its duties regarding the replacement volumes; to expressly provide that this act does not affect any 2023 session statutes; and to specify the duties of the Secretary of State regarding the custody of the cumulative supplements and replacement volumes.
HB 310: Relating to building codes; to create the Healthier Homes Construction Practices Act; to authorize counties and municipalities to adopt procedures for the installation and activation of temporary-permanent electricity or temporary-permanent gas under certain conditions; and to provide certain requirements for the activation.
SB 66: Relating to cannabis; to prohibit the sale, distribution, marketing, or possession of psychoactive cannabinoids found in hemp for certain age groups; to levy a five percent tax on the gross proceeds of products containing psychoactive cannabinoids sold at retail; and in connection therewith would have as its purpose or effect the requirement of a new or increased expenditure of local funds within the meaning of Section 111.05 of the Constitution of Alabama of 2022.
HB 307: Relating to Randolph County; to amend Sections 2 and 5 of Act 2021-307 of the 2021 Regular Session, relating to the coroner; to provide for the salary of the coroner effective at the beginning of the current term in order to implement Act 2021-301 as intended; and to provide that this act is retroactive and curative to January 16, 2023.
HJR 34: HJR____ TO RECOGNIZE MAY 2023 AS TUBEROUS SCLEROSIS COMPLEX AWARENESS MONTH IN ORDER TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR THE NEED FOR RESEARCH, PROPER DIAGNOSIS, AND FAMILY SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO SUFFER FROM TUBEROUS SCLEROSIS COMPLEX.
HB 276: Relating to sheriffs; to provide for the acting sheriff when the office of sheriff of a county is vacant or when certain other circumstances exist in the county; and to repeal Section 11-5-5 of the Code of Alabama 1975, relating to the county coroner serving as sheriff when the office of sheriff is vacant or when certain other circumstances exist in the county.
HJR 59: TO IMPROVE THE CARE OF ATHEROSCLEROTIC
HB 128: Relating to Calhoun County; to authorize the license commissioner to void a motor vehicle license plate, decal, sales and use tax, issuance fees, interest, penalties, and costs when a check or credit card tendered by an individual, company, or other entity for payment of any motor vehicle license is found non-collectible at the time of deposit; and to provide for the reimbursement from the General Fund of Calhoun County to the License Commissioner for losses by the office of the license commissioner for errors and omissions.
