Medicare Sequester COVID Moratorium Act This bill continues to exempt Medicare from budget sequestration orders until the end of the public health emergency relating to COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019).
Officer Eugene Goodman Congressional Gold Medal Act This bill directs the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate to arrange for the presentation of a Congressional Gold Medal to U.S. Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman for his actions to protect the Senate chamber during the security breach at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
This bill establishes in the legislative branch the National Commission on the Domestic Terrorist Attack Upon the United States Capitol. The commission shall (1) conduct an investigation of the relevant facts and circumstances relating to the attacks on the Capitol of January 6, 2021; (2) identify, review, and evaluate the causes of and the lessons learned from the attacks, relative to detecting, preventing, and responding to such kinds of attacks; and (3) report to Congress and the President.
This resolution requires a Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner of the House of Representatives to wear a mask in the Capitol complex until it is no longer recommended to do so by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It also establishes a $1,000 fine for each violation of this requirement.
This resolution calls upon Vice President Michael R. Pence (1) to immediately use his powers under section 4 of the Twenty-fifth Amendment to convene and mobilize the principal officers of the executive departments to declare that the President is unable to successfully discharge the duties and powers of his office, and (2) to transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House notice that he will be immediately assuming the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
This concurrent resolution supports the goals and ideals of No Name-Calling Week. It also encourages schools to consider comprehensive anti-bullying and harassment policies that address incidents based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
This resolution supports teaching climate change in schools and programs to increase public knowledge on the impacts that humans have on the climate.
This resolution recognizes National Mentoring Month.
Protecting Federal Workers Act This bill nullifies certain executive orders concerning federal-employee collective bargaining, classifications, and training. Specifically, it rescinds orders and a memorandum that limit the use of unrestricted grants for union activity, specify objectives for agencies to negotiate collective-bargaining agreements and establish the Interagency Labor Relations Working Group, establish principles for the removal and discipline of federal employees and other personnel issues, prohibit government contractors and other entities from conducting specified workplace training related to race or sex, place certain executive agency positions under a new schedule in the excepted service instead of the competitive service, and delegate authority to the Secretary of Defense to exclude the Department of Defense from certain labor-relations requirements.
Repeal of the Authorization for Use of Military Force This bill repeals the Authorization for Use of Military Force signed into law September 18, 2001.
Public Housing Emergency Response Act This bill authorizes additional assistance from the Public Housing Capital Fund to public housing agencies based upon capital need as determined by the agencies' most recent Physical Needs Assessment.
Guam Supplemental Security Income Equality Act This bill extends the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program to Guam. This is a federal program designed to help aged, blind, and disabled individuals with limited income and resources meet basic needs. When Congress created the SSI program in 1972, it excluded Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam. The Social Security Administration may waive or modify statutory requirements relating to the provision of benefits as necessary to adapt the program to Guam.
