This bill establishes an official policy of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on medicinal cannabis, requires the VA to seek to enter an agreement with a federally funded research and development center to conduct nationwide surveys to measure cannabis use by veterans, and requires the VA to provide training for all VA primary care providers in the use of medical cannabis.
Headstones for Honor Act This bill expands eligibility for Department of Veterans Affairs headstones or markers for unmarked graves (or graves in private cemeteries) of specified individuals, including enslaved individuals who served in the Armed Forces in lieu of another individual or those who performed a military function while prohibited from serving as a member of the Armed Forces on the basis of race, gender, sex, or ethnicity.
Arlington Cemetery Marker Fairness Act This bill requires that headstones other than standard white uniform military grave markers be permitted in certain sections of Arlington National Cemetery. The bill places limits on certain aspects of the headstones, including limitations on size.
Disability ID Act of 2022 This bill requires the Department of Transportation (DOT) to establish a competitive grant program for states and tribal governments to implement programs that allow individuals with disabilities to have discrete disability identifier symbols placed on their state-issued identification cards. DOT may not award a grant to a state or tribal government that exceeds $200,000.
This resolution expresses support for the designation of Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day. It also honors and recognizes the contributions of veterans who served in Vietnam.
Gas Price Gouging Prevention Act This bill prohibits any person from selling, during a proclaimed international crisis affecting the oil markets, gasoline at a price that (1) is unconscionably excessive, and (2) indicates that the seller is taking unfair advantage of the crisis to increase prices unreasonably. The President may issue a proclamation of such a crisis that specifies the geographic area covered and how long the proclamation applies. The bill provides for enforcement by the Federal Trade Commission and imposes enhanced civil penalties and criminal fines. It also authorizes state attorneys general to bring a civil action to enforce the prohibitions of this bill.
This bill bars the use of any of the unobligated COVID-19 relief funds made available to the Department of the Interior until Interior reinstates the telework policies, practices, and levels of telework as in effect at Interior on December 31, 2019. No later than 30 days after the enactment of this bill, Interior shall submit to Congress a plan for opening the offices of Interior for in-office work in a manner consistent with the policies, practices, and levels of telework as in effect on December 31, 2019.
COI Elimination Act This bill limits U.S. contributions to the United Nations pertaining to the U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel. Current law imposes a cap on the annual U.S. contribution to the U.N. budget. The bill lowers that cap by 25% of the amount budgeted for the commission. The bill also states that it shall be U.S. policy to seek the abolition of the commission and combat systemic anti-Israel bias in international bodies.
Find and Protect Foster Youth Act This bill requires the Office of the Administration for Children & Families to evaluate the protocols that states have developed to comply with the reporting requirements for locating a child missing from foster care. Additionally, the administration, through the Children's Bureau, must provide states, Indian tribes, tribal organizations, and tribal consortia with information, advice, educational materials, and technical assistance relating to eliminating identified obstacles to identifying and responding to children missing from foster care and other vulnerable foster youth and providing such children and youth with effective services.
Military Spouse Hiring Act This bill expands the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) to include the hiring of a qualified military spouse. (The WOTC permits employers who hire individuals who are members of a targeted group such as qualified veterans, ex-felons, or long-term unemployment recipients to claim a tax credit equal to a portion of the wages paid to those individuals.) A qualified military spouse is any individual who is certified by the designated local agency as being (as of the hiring date) a spouse of a member of the Armed Forces.
This resolution celebrates the successes of American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian women and the contributions they have made in the United States. The resolution also recognizes the importance of supporting equity, providing safety, and upholding the interests of these women.
Diagnostic Device Advisory Committee Act This bill establishes the Real World Impact of Medical Devices Panel to advise the Food and Drug Administration on the real world impact of regulatory decisions relating to medical devices, including diagnostic devices.
