SCONRES 4: A concurrent resolution affirming the importance of religious freedom as a fundamental human right that is essential to a free society and protected for all people of the United States under the Constitution of the United States, and recognizing the 235th anniversary of the enactment of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom.

This concurrent resolution calls for honoring the 235th anniversary of the enactment of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom on Religious Freedom Day, January 16, 2021. The resolution affirms that religious freedom includes the right of individuals of any faith and individuals of no faith to live, work, associate, and worship in accordance with their beliefs; all people of the United States can be unified in supporting religious freedom because it is a fundamental human right; and the American people will remain forever unshackled in matters of faith.

HJRES 21: Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States giving Congress power to regulate campaign contributions for Federal elections.

This joint resolution proposes a constitutional amendment giving Congress and states the power to regulate (1) donations to candidates for public office, and (2) donations used for media advertisements intended to influence the outcome of an election or direct vote. The amendment prohibits noncitizens or foreign agents from (1) donating to a candidate for public office, or (2) making donations intended to influence the outcome of an election or direct vote.

SRES 20: A resolution providing for sufficient time for legislation to be read.

This resolution makes it out of order in the Senate to consider a measure or matter until one session day has passed since introduction for every 20 pages included in the measure or matter, plus one session day for any remaining pages less than 20. Any Senator may raise a point of order that the consideration of a measure or matter is not in order if not enough days have passed since introduction. The point of order may be waived or suspended only by an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Senators.

HRES 69: Expressing the need for the Federal Government to establish a national biodiversity strategy for protecting biodiversity for current and future generations.

This resolution calls for the federal government to establish a national biodiversity strategy, which must include a goal of conserving at least 30% of U.S. lands and waters to protect biodiversity and address climate change by 2030 and other goals necessary to reduce the threats to biodiversity.
