Southern Nevada Economic Development and Conservation Act

The Southern Nevada Economic Development and Conservation Act transfers approximately 44,950 acres of Federal land to be held in trust for the Moapa Band of Paiutes and 3,156 acres for the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe. It conveys over 4,000 acres of Federal land to Clark County and Nevada cities for public recreation, water infrastructure, flood control, and fire safety facilities. The bill establishes special management areas covering about 300,000 acres to protect wildlife resources, adds over 200,000 acres of wilderness to the National Wilderness Preservation System, and creates off-highway vehicle recreation areas totaling approximately 120,000 acres.
