HB 85: Comptroller, State - As enacted, removes requirement that the comptroller periodically conduct performance audits of state agencies authorized or required to act relative to the conservation of energy, the study and production of alternative sources of energy, and energy security; such agencies remain subject to performance audit for governmental entity review purposes. - Amends TCA Section 8-4-103.

HB 874: Taxes, Exemption and Credits - As introduced, expands the tax credit allowed for the purchase of brownfield property to include real property that was previously the subject of an investigation or remediation as a brownfield project under a voluntary agreement or consent order; revises other provisions related to the tax credit. - Amends TCA Title 67, Chapter 4, Part 20 and Title 67, Chapter 4, Part 21.

SB 148: Taxes, Hotel Motel - As enacted, authorizes the City of Millersville, by ordinance adopted by a two-thirds vote, to levy an occupancy tax of not more than 2.5 percent on the privilege of staying in any hotel or motel in Millersville; the ordinance must set forth the manner of collection and administration of the privilege tax; requires that all proceeds received by the municipality from the tax be used for tourism development. - Amends TCA Section 67-4-1425.

HB 517: Education, Higher - As introduced, provides a student enrolled at an institution of higher education or student organization officially recognized by an institution of higher education with a right to representation by an attorney or non-attorney advocate at the student or organization’s expense; prohibits the student or student organization from the right to representation if the institution has a student honor court or in instances of academic dishonesty; requires institutions of higher education to provide an annual report about the number and type of disciplinary hearings as well as the number of students represented by an attorney or non-attorney advocate. - Amends TCA Title 49, Chapter 8 and Title 49, Chapter 9.
