SB 2602: Correction, Dept. of - As introduced, increases from $1,000 to $1,250, the bond amount the workhouse or jail superintendent must pay to the state for use of the county, from an approved surety company or two or more approved sureties, in addition to taking an oath, to ensure the faithful discharge of the superintendent's duties. - Amends TCA Title 41.

SB 2499: Jails, Local Lock-ups - As introduced, allows a prisoner of a county workhouse or jail to be released from custody on work release or otherwise allowed to leave the grounds of the county workhouse or jail for employment or to perform work in the community without using an electronic monitoring device if the sheriff, with the approval of the county commission, enters into a written agreement with the entity employing or utilizing the prisoner for work in which the entity agrees to accept full liability, including the cost of apprehension, if the prisoner leaves the entity's premises without the permission of the entity or the sheriff while performing work for the entity. - Amends TCA Title 8, Chapter 8 and Title 41.

SB 2715: DUI Offenses - As introduced, requires a law enforcement officer investigating a motor vehicle accident resulting in death to investigate whether an operator was served alcoholic beverages or beer at an establishment licensed to sell alcoholic beverages or beer for on-premises consumption if the officer has probable cause to believe that the operator of a motor vehicle involved in the accident was driving under the influence of alcohol; authorizes the alcoholic beverage commission to suspend or revoke the license of an establishment determined to have violated state law for a period of not less than one year. - Amends TCA Title 55, Chapter 10 and Title 57.

SB 2759: Juvenile Offenders - As introduced, changes the time frame within which each delinquent child ordered to probation supervision or committed to the custody of the department must undergo a validated risk and needs assessment to inform supervision levels, referrals to programs, and case planning from within seven days of the court's disposition to within five days of the court's disposition. - Amends TCA Title 37; Title 38; Title 39 and Title 40.

SB 2874: Criminal Offenses - As introduced, decreases from 30 to 15, the number of days a law enforcement agency, after taking possession of a sexual assault evidence collection kit with the victim's name affixed to it, shall submit the kit to the Tennessee bureau of investigation or similar qualified laboratory for either serology or deoxyribonucleic acid testing. - Amends TCA Title 39.
