SB 2460: Consumer Protection - As introduced, creates a violation under the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act of 1977 for a person or entity that alters the appearance, action, or speech of an individual through the use of synthetic media in a communication that is knowingly distributed publicly with the intent to malign, slander, defame, or otherwise intentionally mislead the public and damage the reputation of the individual. - Amends TCA Title 2; Title 4; Title 8; Title 38; Title 39 and Title 47, Chapter 18.

SB 2505: Contracts - As introduced, requires that contracts entered into between a personal seat license (PSL) holder of 10 or more years and a professional sports franchise for the purchase of a subsequent PSL with an upgraded or improved seating classification include a provision that enables the PSL holder to purchase the subsequent PSL for the same price as the previous PSL; applies to all contracts for subsequent PSL purchases entered into for seating at stadiums in certain counties on or after July 1, 2024. - Amends TCA Title 7; Title 9; Title 16; Title 47 and Title 67.

SB 2291: Local Education Agencies - As introduced, expands, beyond just student performance in English language arts (ELA) on the most recent Tennessee comprehensive assessment program (TCAP) test, the measures of student growth in ELA that an LEA or public charter school may use in determining whether certain fourth-grade students show adequate growth in ELA; requires LEAs and public charter schools to convene a parent-teacher conference for purposes of determining whether a student who does not show adequate growth in ELA must receive or participate in certain interventions or be retained in fourth grade. - Amends TCA Title 49, Chapter 6.

SB 2623: Economic and Community Development - As introduced, requires, on or before January 1, 2025, the commissioner of economic and community development, in consultation with the commissioner of revenue, to report to the finance, ways and means committees of the house of representatives and the senate on the economic development impact of the Border Region Retail Tourism Development District Act on the regions of the state where certified border region retail tourism development districts are located. - Amends TCA Title 7 and Title 67.

SB 2640: Uniform Commercial Code - As introduced, increases, from 10 to 11 days, the time a merchant has to provide a written notice of objection to a writing or record that confirms a contract between the recipient and another merchant before the writing or record is considered sufficient to satisfy the statute of frauds under the Uniform Commercial Code. - Amends TCA Title 47.
