SB 2980: Tullahoma - Subject to local approval, clarifies that the election for the Board of Education aligns with the November general election; extends board members' terms from August, until a successor is elected and qualified; establishes a four-year term for board members; extends the terms of the three school board members elected on the first Thursday in August 2020 from the first Thursday in August 2024 to the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November 2024, or until their successors are elected and qualified; extends the terms of the two school board members elected on the first Tuesday in August 2021 from the first Thursday in August 2025 to the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November 2026, or until their successors are elected and qualified; extends the terms of the two school board members elected on the first Thursday in August 2022 from the first Thursday in August 2026 to the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November 2026, or until their successors are elected and qualified. - Amends Chapter 553 of the Acts of 1903; as amended.

SB 2191: Firearms and Ammunition - As introduced, imposes an additional 15-percent tax on the retail sale of firearms; requires revenue from the firearms tax to be deposited into the K-12 mental health counselor fund to be administered by the department of education and used exclusively to provide school counselors in elementary and secondary public schools and public charter schools in this state and for mental health assessments and services for students pursuant to a school counselor's referral. - Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13; Title 49, Chapter 5; Title 49, Chapter 6 and Title 67.

SB 1242: Health Care - As enacted, requires the Tennessee peace officer standards and training (POST) commission to adopt guidelines and materials instructing law enforcement officers on the best practices for recognizing and responding to a medical crisis involving a person under arrest or under the care or supervision of the law enforcement officer. - Amends TCA Title 38; Title 41 and Title 68.
