SB 1029: Firearms and Ammunition - As introduced, creates the offense of storing a firearm or firearm ammunition in a motor vehicle or boat while the person is not in the motor vehicle or boat unless the firearm or firearm ammunition is kept from ordinary observation and locked within the trunk, utility or glove box, or a locked container securely affixed to the motor vehicle or boat; requires the owner of a firearm to report the loss or theft of the firearm to law enforcement within 24 hours of the discovery of the loss or theft. - Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13.

SB 1322: Handgun Permits - As introduced, requires the department of safety to issue permits with the designation "Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit" on the front of the permit; requires the department to issue replacement permits for any permit that contains the designation "Handgun Carry Permit" upon renewal or upon the permit holder's request. - Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13.

SB 1869: Firearms and Ammunition - As introduced, requires clerks of court to collect and report a finding that a person is incompetent to stand trial in a criminal proceeding to the federal bureau of investigation and department of safety; prohibits the purchase or possession of a firearm by a person who has been adjudicated as a mental defective, including a person who has been found incompetent to stand trial in a criminal proceeding. - Amends TCA Title 16; Title 39 and Title 40.

SB 1852: Criminal Offenses - As introduced, creates the Class A misdemeanor of knowingly selling, loaning, or making a gift of a firearm to a minor for the purpose of inducing or coercing the minor to commit an offense; subjects a person convicted for such offense to civil liability for any criminal act committed by the minor. - Amends TCA Title 29, Chapter 4; Title 37 and Title 39.
