HB 761: Jails, Local Lock-ups - As introduced, requires, instead of permits, that the county legislative body or court appoint jail inspectors for the upcoming year; includes the judiciary committee of the senate, the state and local government committee of the senate, the criminal justice committee of the house of representatives, and the local government committee of the house of representatives to receive the results of the inspection no later than March 1 of each year; includes the local state senator and state representative of the respective area to be included in the report by the board of control for a failure of the county, municipality, or political subdivision to maintain the standards required by the Tennessee corrections institute. - Amends TCA Title 41, Chapter 4.

SB 1312: Probation and Parole - As introduced, allows the court that places a person on misdemeanor probation, if supervision would be extended or family or child support obligations could not be met because of the supervision fees and court costs and fines and other fees, to declare the person to be indigent. - Amends TCA Title 8; Title 16; Title 37; Title 40; Title 41 and Title 55.

SB 255: Juries and Jurors - As introduced, allows any person age 70 or older to request the jury coordinator of the county to remove the person's name from the jury list of the county if the request is made in writing and is accompanied by an affidavit providing the person's name, age, and other information as required by the jury coordinator; requires the jury coordinator to remove the person's name from the jury list upon receiving the request. - Amends TCA Title 22.
