SB 1988: Sentencing - As introduced, requires a person convicted of aggravated assault or aggravated robbery, committed on or after July 1, 2022, to serve 100 percent of the sentence imposed by the court, or no less than 85 percent of the sentence imposed by the court less sentence reduction credits earned and retained. - Amends TCA Title 39 and Title 40.

HB 2590: Juvenile Offenders - As introduced, allows a child to be committed to the department of children's services if the child is adjudicated delinquent for an offense that would constitute a misdemeanor if committed by an adult and the child has previously been adjudicated delinquent for another listed offense; requires an officer to make efforts to contact a child's parent or guardian when issuing the child a misdemeanor citation in lieu of continued custody, if the officer deems it appropriate. - Amends TCA Title 37 and Title 39.
