HRES 733: Congratulating the people of the Republic of Turkey and Turkish Americans nationwide on the 98th anniversary of Turkish Republic Day.

This resolution recognizes the Republic of Turkey as an important ally of the United States. The resolution expresses appreciation for Turkey's contribution to global efforts to combat the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (also known as ISIS or Daesh), the Kurdistan Workers' Party, and other terrorist organizations. The resolution acknowledges the unique political, economic, and social challenges confronting the people of Turkey from the influx of refugees caused by the conflicts and instability in the region. The resolution commends the contributions of the Turkish-American community to America. This resolution congratulates the people of Turkey, and Turkish Americans nationwide, as they celebrate Turkish Republic Day.

HR 6820: CRISIS Act

Curbing Reckless Ill-conceived Spending on Illegal Services Act or the CRISIS Act This bill modifies the Federal Emergency Management Food and Shelter Program to prohibit the provision of certain services to illegal aliens. Specifically, the bill requires each emergency food and shelter local board to (1) ensure that no recipient service provider provides any service, including transportation, to an alien unlawfully present in the United States; and (2) certify, at least annually to the national board, and publish such certification locally.

HR 6069: Promoting Ties with Taiwan Act

Promoting Ties with Taiwan Act This bill requires the Department of State to submit to Congress a strategy to (1) work with allies and partners to support the expansion of Taiwan's relations and engagement with countries around the world, (2) promote the establishment of Taiwan's presence in countries and partners where Taiwan does not have a permanent presence, and (3) strengthen economic relations and supply chain resilience among Taiwan and like-minded partners to counter threats and malign influences from authoritarian regimes. Within one year of submitting the strategy, the State Department must report to Congress on actions taken to carry out the strategy.

S 697: Harriet Tubman Bicentennial Commemorative Coin Act

Harriet Tubman Bicentennial Commemorative Coin Act This bill directs the Department of the Treasury to mint and issue 50,000 $5 gold coins, 400,000 $1 silver coins, and 750,000 half-dollar clad coins emblematic of the legacy of Harriet Tubman as an abolitionist. The Secretary may issue coins under this bill only during the period of January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024. All surcharges received by Treasury from the sale of such coins must be paid equally to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, and The Harriet Tubman Home, Inc. in Auburn, New York, for the purpose of accomplishing and advancing their missions.

HR 6789: Identifying and Eliminating Wasteful Programs Act

Identifying and Eliminating Wasteful Programs Act This bill requires each federal agency to compile a list of unnecessary programs. Specifically, each agency must compile a list of such programs, based on guidance provided by the Office of Management and Budget, that are unnecessary, defunct, or duplicative federal programs; another agency could administer more effectively; or could operate more effectively if the program or activity were consolidated with other programs or activities. Additionally, the President must include the list of identified programs or program activities in the annual budget submitted to Congress. An agency may submit to Congress recommendations for statutory changes to eliminate or consolidate programs or program activities identified in the list.

Passport Sanity Act This bill prohibits the Department of State from issuing a passport, passport card, or Consular Report of Birth Abroad with an unspecified (X) gender designation. The State Department must also ensure that applications for such documents include only male and female gender designations.

HR 6753: Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act of 2022

Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act of 2022 This bill temporarily waives certain requirements related to the President's authority to lend or lease defense articles if the defense articles are intended for Ukraine's government and necessary to protect civilians in Ukraine from Russian military invasion. An agreement to lend or lease defense articles under this bill shall not be subject to certain requirements and provisions that typically apply to such lend-lease agreements, including (1) a requirement that prohibits a loan period from exceeding five years, (2) a requirement that the United States may recall the loaned defense article at any time, (3) a requirement that the receiving party has agreed to pay the United States all costs incurred in leasing the defense article, and (4) a provision that allows Congress to prohibit certain transfers of defense articles upon the enactment of a joint resolution. The waivers provided by this bill shall be in effect until (1) the conflict beginning with Russia's annexation of the Crimea region of Ukraine in 2014 has ceased, and (2) Russia has reduced its military force on Ukraine's eastern border to the levels maintained prior to March 1, 2021. The President must establish expedited procedures to ensure the timely delivery of defense articles loaned or leased under this bill.

SRES 524: A resolution expressing support for the designation of February 19 through February 26, 2022, as "National FFA Week", recognizing the important role of the National FFA Organization in developing the next generation of leaders who will change the world, and celebrating 70 years of the National FFA Organization's membership magazine, originally called The National Future Farmer, now called New Horizons.

This resolution supports the designation of February 19-February 26, 2022, as National FFA Week.
