Motor vehicles; modifying definition of military surplus vehicles; effective date.

This Oklahoma bill updates the legal definition of military surplus vehicles to allow more vehicles to be registered for civilian use. Under the new rules, a vehicle qualifies as military surplus if it has three axles or fewer, is under 35 years old, was originally made for the U.S. military or an NATO country, includes required safety belts, and has standard equipment. Owners must still register these vehicles and cannot use them to transport passengers for a fee. The changes take effect on November 1, 2024.
