HB 3274 Oklahoma House · 2024 Regular Session

Schools; allowing the statewide system of student assessments to include certain retest and career-readiness and armed services assessments; providing certain exemption; effective date; emergency.

HB 3274 would have allowed Oklahoma's statewide student assessment system to include optional retesting for college-readiness exams and new career-readiness or military aptitude tests for high school students. The bill proposed adding these additional assessments at no cost to students, with specific provisions for the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery for grades ten through twelve. It also mandated that school districts report the highest scores from these tests on student transcripts to help future employers and colleges evaluate academic performance. Although the bill outlined these changes, it was vetoed by the Governor on May 15, 2024, and did not become law.
