Provides a performance of duty presumption for diseases of the heart for members who serve as an ambulance medical technician, ambulance medical coordinator, ambulance medical technician/supervisor or a member who performs ambulance medical technician related services, or a police medic, police medic coordinator, police medic supervisor, bureau director police emergency ambulance services - county, assistant bureau director police emergency ambulance services - county, or a member who performs police medic or police emergency ambulance related services and is employed in the Nassau county police department.
Prohibits falsely impersonating an employee organization or an employee representative with the intent to deceive the recipient and thereby cause harm to such recipient or employee organization by the use of fraud, misrepresentation, material omission, or other deception in making and disseminating a verbal, written or electronic communication; provides that the attorney general may bring an action or proceeding to enjoin such unlawful acts or practices.
Expands how applicants may qualify for a license to be a dentist to include postdoctoral specialty programs and advanced education programs in general dentistry.
Authorizes the commissioner of general services to convey real property at the former Buffalo psychiatric center to the Richardson Center Corporation for the purposes of constructing a mixed-use campus for the community benefit.
Provides liability protections for health care providers who issue vaccines so long as such vaccination does not arise out of willful misconduct or gross negligence.
Enacts the "pediatric palliative care center act" to establish a demonstration program for pediatric palliative care centers for up to five not-for-profits to provide palliative care to individuals who are under twenty-one years of age, have been diagnosed with a chronic, complex, life-threatening illness that is expected to shorten their life expectancy, and is not expected to survive past twenty-one years of age; authorizes the establishment or approval of a rate methodology.
Authorizes insurers to collect social security account numbers solely for the purpose of effectuating, verifying, or amending an individual's donor registration status in the New York state donate life registry; prohibits use of such information other than for such purposes.
Directs the public service commission to develop, publish, and update a guidebook on the gas and electric ratemaking process to promote public understanding and participation in the gas and electric ratemaking process; facilitates the formal intervention and participation of interested or affected parties; sets forth requirements for what such guidebook shall include.
This bill (A 10171) amends commemorative signage for a bridge on the Southern State Parkway in Babylon, Suffolk County, to include Detective Thomas M. Inman's middle initial on the dedication plaque. It requires transportation officials to install signs stating "Bridge Dedicated to Detective Thomas M. Inman" but explicitly clarifies this is purely ceremonial. The bill does not change the bridge's official name or legal designation. The change affects signage only and has no impact on transportation records or operations.
Directs the commissioner of the office of alcoholism and substance abuse services to establish a program for individuals to receive free drug test strips to detect the presence of medetomidine, benzodiazepine, nitazenes, and/or other harmful contaminants; directs the commissioner of the office of alcoholism and substance abuse services, in cooperation with the commissioner of the department of health, to develop and conduct a public awareness and educational campaign on the dangers of medetomidine, benzodiazepine, nitazenes, and/or other harmful contaminants.
Grants Nassau county fire marshals, supervising fire marshals, fire marshals, assistant fire marshals, assistant chief fire marshals or chief fire marshals pension benefits for service rendered beyond twenty-five years.
Authorizes Janay Gasparini, a part-time police officer, with the town of New Paltz police department to take the civil service examination and be eligible for appointment as a full time police officer for the town of New Paltz.
