AB 425: Revises provisions governing public safety. (BDR 14-945)

AN ACT relating to public safety; requiring the Central Repository for Nevada Records of Criminal History to prepare an annual report relating to the transmission of certain information and records concerning public safety; providing for coordination between the Central Repository and the courts relating to such information and records; enacting provisions relating to the authority of the Central Repository to conduct a background check on certain persons who provide care for children, elderly persons or persons with disabilities; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

AN ACT relating to criminal procedure; establishing a uniform procedure for the criminal forfeiture of property used or obtained in certain crimes; providing for the distribution of forfeited property and proceeds from the sale of such property; requiring the reporting of certain information relating to the forfeiture of property; revising provisions authorizing the forfeiture of property; repealing certain provisions governing the seizure, forfeiture and disposition of property and proceeds; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

AN ACT relating to veterans; authorizing the Director of the Department of Veterans Services to apply for grants and other sources of money; authorizing the Director to accept certain money received from various sources; requiring the Director to deposit any money received from certain grants or other sources of money with the State Treasurer for credit to certain accounts; requiring the Director to use money received from grants and other sources only for specified purposes; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

SB 472: Establishes a database of information concerning health insurance claims in this State. (BDR 40-1145)

AN ACT relating to health care; requiring the Department of Health and Human Services to seek federal financial participation or grant funding and, to the extent obtained in a certain amount, to establish an all-payer claims database containing information relating to health insurance claims for benefits provided in this State; requiring certain insurers to submit data to the database; authorizing certain additional insurers to submit data to the database; providing for the release of data in the database under certain circumstances; requiring the Department to publish a report on the quality and cost of health care using data from the database; requiring the Department to submit certain other reports concerning the database to the Legislature; providing immunity from civil and criminal liability for certain persons and entities; authorizing the imposition of administrative penalties for violations of certain requirements concerning the database; making appropriations; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

AN ACT relating to counties; authorizing a board of county commissioners to create by ordinance the office of county counsel; providing for the appointment of a county counsel; establishing the qualifications of a county counsel; authorizing a county counsel to appoint deputies and certain other staff; setting forth the powers and duties of a county counsel; revising the responsibilities of the district attorney when the office of county counsel is created; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
